Air Service Training Hangar

On 24th November 2008 AST opened its new 1900 square metre training hangar on the Perth airport site. Our Perth Airport campus features a fully equipped Part 147 Technical Training Hangar that includes:

  • Classrooms
  • Avionic Workshop
  • Electrical Workshop
  • Student Crew Room for breaks

In the Main Hangar, students will have access to a variety of engines and aircraft, which are essential for developing practical skills throughout the course. The fleet includes:

  • 2 x CF6 Gas Turbine Engines
  • Cessna 150
  • Cessna 310
  • Jetstream 41
  • 3 x AW109 Helicopters

Students will complete practical assessments involving both electrical and mechanical tasks on these aircraft which accounts for 40% of your course work. Additionally, our campus includes a Sheet Metal Workshop where you will hone your skills in aircraft riveting and skin repair.

For refreshments, a café is located at the airport, offering a selection of meals and hot and cold beverages.
