Become an Aircraft Engineer

Our EASA / UKCAA Part-66 Approved Category ‘B’ course, including AMET, is a fantastic opportunity that typically takes just under 2 years to complete, factoring in AST holiday breaks. You’ll dive into a blend of theory and hands-on essential practical training. Learn in our clean, well-equipped facilities alongside our friendly and experienced instructors who are dedicated to helping you succeed. Training with AST in a Part 147 approved training organisation gives you the best opportunity to walk into career as an Aircraft Engineer, requiring a further two year in industry before applying for your licence, we can’t wait for you to join us!

The first year of the course covers the modules common to both B1 and B2 Licence categories and at the start of the second-year classes may split into the following licence disciplines where applicable. Part of the Approved Basic Training Programme includes 8 weeks of Aircraft Maintenance Environment Training (AMET), that is conducted within a Part-145 environment under the training organisations Part 147 Approval. Treat these weeks as a ‘mini interview’, preparing you for a long, healthy career in industry.

  • 17th February 2025 (*B1.1)
  • 7th July 2025 (B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B2)
  • 20th October 2025 (B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B2)
