Aircraft Engineering training entry requirements

There are no minimum entry qualification levels required for undertaking the training however we recommend potential students should have a good understanding of both Mathematics and Physics. A useful website for pre-course learning and practice is the BBC Bitesize Website which covers parts of the syllabus for both subjects.

BBC Bitesize National 4 - Mathematics

BBC Bitesize National 5 - Mathematics

International entry requirements

English Language

As our programmes are delivered and examined in English, it is extremely important that you are able to communicate effectively in all components (reading, writing, listening & speaking) and we will require formal evidence of your English Language competence.

In accordance with Student Visa requirements, if you are a national of a country that UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) considers to be a majority English-speaking country, you will not have to provide evidence of your English language ability for visa purposes. We will determine whether you are a national of a majority English-speaking country from the information detailed on your passport.

If you are a national from a non-majority English-speaking country, you will need to provide a valid UKVI-approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) report form. For entry on to our Engineering Training courses, an IELTS for UKVI Academic test report form is required as evidence of English language ability.

As an alternative to IELTS for UKVI we can also accept English Language Certificates issued by LanguageCert at B2 level providing passes in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening are demonstrated.

Please refer to the UKVI website at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-applying-for-uk-visa-approved-english-language-tests for details of UKVI-approved test centres. You will also find information on how to book an IELTS for UKVI Academic test at http://takeielts.britishcouncil.org/ielts-ukvi/book-ielts-ukvi.

We would recommend that prospective students familiarise themselves with the UK Student visa Guidance document, which is available at https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/923750/student-route-casework-guidance.pdf
