Approved Category B Basic Course
The courses have a duration of 89 Training Weeks, with 8 weeks used for an On the Job Training (OJT) placement. Following successful graduation, graduates will be required to provide evidence of a minimum of 2-years appropriate maintenance experience before applying for licence issue. However, those following the mechanical sub-categories (B1.1, B1.2, B1.3 & B1.4 & B2) may apply for issue of a Category A licence of the appropriate sub-category after a minimum period of 1-year appropriate maintenance experience.

- B1.1 Line Maintenance Certifying Technician/Base Maintenance Technician – Aeroplanes Turbine
- B1.2 Line Maintenance Certifying Technician/Base Maintenance Technician – Aeroplanes Piston
- B1.3 Line Maintenance Certifying Technician/Base Maintenance Technician – Helicopters Turbine
- B1.4 Line Maintenance Certifying Technician/Base Maintenance Technician – Helicopters Piston
- B2 Line Maintenance Certifying Technician/Base Maintenance Technician - Avionic
